Official Rules For The SASK Landing Walleye Tournament
1. ELIGIBILITY
A) All persons 18 years of age or older are eligible to
enter. Anglers under 18 years of age must be
accompanied by parent or guardian.
2. REQUIREMENTS
A) Each contestant will be in possession of a valid
Saskatchewan fishing license.
B) Promoters and organizations assisting in
tournament operation, their agencies and agents are not
responsible for death, injury, damage, liability, theft,
fire or any loss to any entrants. Each entrant, upon
signing an entry form, will in effect be signing a waiver
form.
C) All contestants are required to observe Canadian
rules and regulations concerning safe boating.
3. FISHING
A) Only walleye, sauger or saugeye will be included
in official totals.
B) Only those fish caught on hook and line in normal
manner will be accepted.
C) Each fisherman will be allowed to have (I) line in
the water at a time. Spare rods and equipment may be
carried in the boat.
D) Live bait and artificial bait and lures are allowed.
Electronic or electrical luring or attracting devices are
prohibited. NO LIVE MINNOWS ALLOWED.
E) No minimum size limit. Any fish mangled or
damaged or otherwise not considered suitable for live
release at the discretion of the weigh-in officials will be
subject to a penalty of20% of that fish.
F) Entrants will conduct themselves as true
sportsmen and gentlemen when fishing ncar another
boat. No boat may touch another boat.
G) A contestant MUST NOT leave the boat to land a
fish or untangle equipment.
H) The tournament daily limit shall be the total of
five (5) fish per team, only two of which may excced
21 112inches pinched tail measurement.
I) No more than (5) fish may be in your livewell at
one time.
J) Any team not abiding by the Saskatchewan
angling regulations will be disquallficd.
K) Any team putting dead fish back into the lake will
be disqualified, Sec 6 E).
4. BOATS AND EQUIPMENT
A) All boats will be required to meet U.S. Coast
Guard or Canadian Safety regulations.
B) All boats will be required to carry a state or
provincial registration in accordance with the
regulations of the home state or province of the owner
of the boat.
C) Boats may be equipped with electronic positioning
or trolling motors.
D) Electronic and electrical depth finders,
thermometers, oxygen meters, etc. are allowed.
E) Livewell MUST be used by all teams. A livewell
is an aeration container used to retain live fish.

5. TOURNAMENT BOUNDARIES
A) All water within the Lake Diefenbaker Reservoir
system between Herbert Ferry Regional Park and Cabri
Regional Park will bc open to Tournament fishing.
6. WEIGH-IN
A) The scale will be open throughout the fishing day.
B) Each team will be responsible for their own catch.
Under no circumstance may anyone other than the
contestants handle or touch the catch until presented for
weigh-in.
C) A team member will carry the catch to the scale. Each
team will receive a copy of their scale ticket each time a fish
is weighed. The scale tickets are to be initialed by a team
member.
D) An unloading area will be designated immediately in
front of the weigh-in area and will be for unloading fish
only. .
E) A maximum of two (2) dcad fish per day per team will
be weighed.
F) Only one minute for revival of questionable fish is
allowed in revival tank.
7. REQUIRED ACTIVITIES
A) All contestants arc reguired to attend the pretournament
rules night which will be held Friday, July 17,
2009 at K Ie Elk .••& Communi Hall K Ie Sa.•• k.
B) Any contestants InVOve In a protest must e on call
for three (3) hours following the end of the fishing day.
C) All contestants are required to co-operate with
members of the press for interviews and photOgraphs.
D) Any contestant displaying abusive behaVIOr towards an
official can be disqualified.
8. FISHING HOURS AND STARTING
A) The fishing hours will be announced at the Tournament
Rules Meeting. All boats must be inspected before they will
be allowed to leave in the respective flights.
B) Contestants that return late will be disqualified from
that days weigh ins. No exceptions!.
C) The Sask. Landing Marina area will serve as
tournament headquarters and contestants will be required to
start and end each day at this point.
D) Boats will be leaving in three (3) flights. The flights
will alternate each day.
9. BOA T IDENTIFICATION & PATROLLING
A) All contestants will be identified with a colored decal.
Team numbers will be assigned when applicants are notified
of their acceptance.
B) If an emergency exists, patrol boat personnel will be
clearly marked for easy identification.
C) Boats may be inspected before and during the
tournament. Tournament officials will be checking boats at
the launch area and patrol boats will be patrolling the fishing
area. Any cheating will result in immediate disqualification,
if protests are upheld.
10. PRIZES
A) All prizes will bc based on most weight during the two
days of the tournament.
B) Prizes will be awarded on a team basis.
C) In case of a tie, the outcome will be decided by' the
greatest weight taken on the final day. Other ties WIll be
resolved by tournament officials.
D) Prizes will be awarded on the final day subject to
final checks by officials. Any cash prizes not presented
will be mailed no later than August 31, 2009.
E) Payout of prizes is based on a 125 team field.
11. CONTIGENCY PRIZES
A) All contingency prizes may be made by contributors,
supporters or other partles.
B) Rules for contingency prizes may be stipulated by
those offering the prize.
C) Team Member has 10 minutes at the revival tank on
questionable big fish.
12. 'SPIRIT OF THE RULE'
A) All rules have 'loopholes'. It is the intention of the
organizers to provide an honest sportsmanlike
tournament. In the interest of good sportsmanship,
contestants are reminded that 'the spirit of the rule' WIll
prevail in all judgment cases.
13. PROTESTS
A) Any contestant has the right to make a protest
against another contestant. A protest form will be
available from the tournament chairman and must be
filled out and presented to the chairman within one hour
of the close of the fishing day.
B) A $150 protest fee will be required to accompany any
formal protest. The fee will be returned if the protest is
found to be valid by the protest committee.
14. MISCELLANEOUS
A) If one of the two team members drops out before the
tournament, he may be replaced by the choice of the
remaining team member. The chairman must be notified
in writing of the change before the tournament.
B) If an entire team drops out, the team must find its
own replacement and notify the chairman in writing of
same. The entry fee will not be refunded.
C) All partlcipants are encouraged to attend Final
Weigh-in and Awards Presentations.

15. TOURNAMENT WITHIN THE TOURNAMENT
A) Any team registered to participate in the Sask.
Landing Walleye Fishing Tournament has the option to
pay an additional $100.00 towards the entry of a
tournament within the tournament.
B) All entry fees taken in for the tournament within the
tournament will be paid out 100% to the top 3 finishing
teams of the tournament within the tournament.
C) The weight that a team scores for the Sask. Landing
Walleye Tournament will be used as the weight for the
tournament within the tournament.
D) Total weight for two days will be used to determine
the top 3 finishers ofthc tournament within the
tournament.
E) All rules that are applied for the Sask. Landing
Walleye Tournament WIll apply for the tournament within
the tournament.
